Your adventure begins with an 8:00 AM pickup from your hotel in Cusco. From there, we head into the Sacred Valley, a fertile and historically rich region steeped in tradition.
Our first stop is Chinchero, a village perched at 3,800 meters above sea level, where you’ll witness traditional Andean weaving techniques passed down through generations. Observe local families spinning and dyeing wool with natural pigments as part of a cultural demonstration.
Next, we’ll explore the Chinchero Archaeological Complex, a blend of Inca-era terraces and a beautiful colonial church built upon ancient foundations.
From Chinchero, we continue to Moray, a fascinating site featuring concentric circular terraces. Moray is believed to have functioned as an agricultural laboratory for the Incas, where they experimented with growing crops at varying altitudes.
Just a few kilometers away, we arrive at Maras, home to a network of over 3,000 salt ponds carved into the mountain. These ancient pools have been used to extract salt since pre-Inca times and create an impressive landscape of glistening white.
Our final stop of the day is Ollantaytambo, an ancient "Living City" where you’ll board the scenic train to Aguas Calientes (the town at the base of Machu Picchu). We’ll check into a cozy hotel for the evening, and you’ll have time to relax and prepare for the highlight of your travels—Machu Picchu.
