Itinerary

Hotel Pick-Up (8:30 AM): Your exciting day begins with a warm welcome from our Machu Picchu Spirit team, who will pick you up directly from your accommodation in Cusco. Our knowledgeable guides will ensure you’re comfortable and ready to embark on a journey through some of the most fascinating historical and cultural landmarks of the region.

Visit to Qoricancha: Our first stop is the legendary Qoricancha, once known as the Temple of the Sun. This sacred site was originally adorned with walls covered in gold and served as a vital center for Inca worship and astronomy. Over time, Spanish conquistadors destroyed much of the temple, building the Santo Domingo Convent on its foundation. Today, the site offers a unique blend of Inca and colonial architecture, showcasing the rich history and cultural transformation of Cusco.

Journey to Sacsayhuaman: Next, we head to the awe-inspiring fortress of Sacsayhuaman, an iconic testament to Inca engineering. Famous for its massive stone walls—some weighing over 100 tons—it’s unclear how the Incas managed to move and fit these enormous stones with such precision. From here, you’ll enjoy panoramic views of Cusco, along with a deeper understanding of the Inca Empire’s ingenuity and strength.

Explore Qenqo: Our journey continues to Qenqo, an intriguing ceremonial site carved directly into the bedrock. Here, you’ll explore ancient altars, passageways, and niches believed to have been used for rituals such as ceremonies and mummification. The intricate carvings and mysterious atmosphere make this a must-see for history enthusiasts.

Puca Pucara & Tambomachay: Next, we visit Puca Pucara, a picturesque site thought to have served as a military checkpoint or hunting lodge, offering breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape. Nearby, Tambomachay awaits with its intricate water channels, fountains, and terraces, believed to have been used for ceremonies honoring water, an essential element for the Inca civilization.Return to Hotel (): After an enriching morning exploring these remarkable sites, we’ll bring you back to your hotel in Cusco by early afternoon. You’ll have plenty of time to relax, reflect on the beauty of Inca heritage, or continue exploring the vibrant streets, markets, and restaurants of this historic city at your own pace.
