Itinerary

Following a morning pickup from your accommodation in Cusco, we’ll begin our journey with a scenic drive to the town of Tambomachay, where you’ll meet our trekking team and prepare for the adventure ahead. After a brief introduction and final preparation, we’ll set off on our hike.

The trail takes us through picturesque valleys, serene lakes, and sprawling open grasslands. Keep an eye out for local wildlife, including Andean Geese, lapwings, and other bird species that inhabit this breathtaking region. Along the way, you’ll also pass fields of traditional crops such as native potatoes and tarwi, gaining a glimpse into the agricultural traditions of the Andes.

We’ll pause for a delicious, freshly prepared lunch at the stunning Q’eulla Cocha Lagoon, where you can relax, take in the tranquil surroundings, and recharge for the next leg of the trek.

After lunch, we’ll ascend to Pukamarca Pass at an elevation of 4,200 meters. From this vantage point, you’ll be rewarded with awe-inspiring panoramic views of the Andean peaks, including Veronica, Pitusiray, and Chicon. These towering mountains form a dramatic backdrop, ideal for photos and reflection.

From the pass, we’ll begin our descent into the remote village of Pukamarca, located at 4,010 meters. Here, you’ll have the unique opportunity to connect with local families and explore their traditional way of life, gaining insights into their customs, culture, and daily routines in this isolated yet vibrant community.

Your journey leads you to Huchuy Qosqo, a fascinating archaeological site perched high above the Sacred Valley. Here, you’ll enjoy a guided tour to uncover the rich history and significance of this site, followed by some free time to explore on your own and take in the sweeping panoramic views of the valley and its dramatic landscapes.

After soaking in the beauty of Huchuy Qosqo, start your descent with a scenic two-hour trek downhill to the charming town of Lamay, where a well-earned lunch awaits. From there, private transport will take you to Ollantaytambo, a historic and picturesque town. Here, you'll board the train for a memorable ride through the stunning Andean landscapes to the vibrant town of Aguas Calientes, nestled at the base of Machu Picchu.
