Itinerary
The tour begins with a pick-up from your hotel in Cusco, followed by a journey to the Sacred Valley, an area surrounded by mountains, agricultural fields, and traditional communities. Along the way, the Andean landscape accompanies you with open views and fresh air.
The first stop is the Moray archaeological complex, an impressive Inca agricultural laboratory. Its circular terraces, built at different depths, allowed the Incas to experiment with microclimates to improve the cultivation of crops such as potatoes, corn, and quinoa. The guide will explain the scientific and cultural importance of the site, as well as its architectural value.
Next, the tour continues to the Maras Salt Mines, a network of more than three thousand salt ponds that have been exploited since pre-Inca times. Fed by a natural spring, these ponds create a unique landscape that contrasts with the surrounding mountains. Here you will learn about the traditional salt extraction process and have time to take photos and purchase local products.
After the visits are completed, the transport returns to Cusco, concluding an experience that combines history, ancestral engineering and living tradition in one of the most emblematic settings of the Sacred Valley.
