Itinerary
The adventure begins with a pick-up from your hotel in Cusco to head towards the community of Pacchanta, located at the foot of the imposing Ausangate mountain, one of the most sacred mountains in the Andes. During the journey, the landscape gradually changes: valleys, mountains, and vast Andean plains accompany the route.
Upon arrival in Pacchanta, you’ll enjoy a traditional breakfast that provides the necessary energy to begin the hike. The hike is conducted at a leisurely pace and with guidance, allowing you to visit seven lagoons, each with unique colors ranging from turquoise and deep blue to emerald green, a result of the glacial minerals.
Along the way, the Ausangate mountain displays its full splendor, creating a breathtaking natural setting perfect for photography. The guide will explain the spiritual significance of Ausangate in the Andean worldview, as well as the flora and fauna that inhabit this high-altitude area.
After completing the hike, you’ll return to Pacchanta to enjoy a typical lunch prepared by the local community. As the perfect end to the day, you can relax in the thermal baths, whose natural waters help soothe fatigue and allow you to enjoy the surroundings.
Finally, the return journey to Cusco begins, concluding an unforgettable experience of nature, culture, and high-altitude landscapes.
“A tip for the trail: walk at your own pace, breathe deeply, and connect with the energy of Ausangate; this journey is both physical and spiritual.”
